General Campaign Questions

SLS helps you create and promote your fundraising campaign through various channels such as social media, print and email. We even provide you with a unique QR code to make your fundraising seamless.

Campaigns will only show up in our public listing and be searchable when they receive at least 1 donation to the campaign. This is to ensure quality of postings. So make sure to share your campaign right away as it can be reached directly through the campaign link.

Many of your donors will be people that you know (family, friends, co-workers, etc.) who are in your various networks. Here are some spam guidelines:

  • Emailing or direct messaging people you don't know
  • Using email lists from third parties or soliciting other SLS donors from other campaigns
  • Sending unsolicited @-replies on Twitter
  • Attacking forums with Link-bombs
  • Promoting a campaign on another fundraiser's campaign pages

Any doubts on whether something is or isn't spam? Err on the side of caution and presume it's spam and prohibited.

Donations made to qualified organizations are typically tax deductible. Please consult with your tax advisor to confirm whether your donation can be deducted.

Because SupportLocalStuff is not authorized to give tax or legal advice, you should always consult with a tax accountant or attorney if there are any questions regarding the implications of the donations collected on SupportLocalStuff.
